Prayer Lodge | Nia Kuumba

“Everyone on earth has a purpose in life and we must be creative in finding out what God is calling us to do.”
- Theresa Bland, Core Member Nia Kuumba and Associate.

Located in St. Louis, the House of Discernment and spirituality for African-American and African women offers opportunities to experience prayer, spiritual direction, faith sharing, private or small retreats, and community-building in the African and African-American tradition. While Nia Kuumba welcomes women and men of all cultures, its primary focus is upon the spirituality of the African-American woman. Here she can examine her personal spiritual journey in her own cultural tradition and explore her spiritual life with others and with her church.

Who might be interested in exploring the offerings at Nia Kuumba?

  • Women primarily African-American and African.
  • Women 18 years and older.

  • Women wishing for ongoing faith development.
  • Women and men wishing to support the vision of Nia Kuumba by sharing time talent and treasure.

At Nia Kuumba the African American woman is nurtured in her pursuit of vibrant community living and in her own cultural spirituality.
