VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Michaela Farm welcomes volunteers. Whether you are looking for a one day experience or want to come more often, we have a place for you!
Individual Volunteers:
If you have an interest in helping during our growing season, we always have something for you to do. A short talk with our farm manager or head gardener about your interests and abilities can lead to a single experience or if you have time, a weekly or monthly visit to the farm to help. Individuals, who need service or work hours for your school experience, call us to see how we can help you. Let us talk with you about how this could work.
Group Volunteers:
Junior high, high school and college groups seeking to fulfill a service requirement can fulfill that obligation with us. If you are willing to literally get your hands dirty, we can help you with the service requirement. We also welcome Eagle Scout projects, Confirmation classes, and any other group that seeks a place to fulfill their service requirement. Call and talk to us about your requirements and timeline for accomplishing your service.
Volunteer Work Days:
Organized work days are scheduled once a month from April through November. Watch our website to learn the dates of these days. Come by yourself or with a group of friends. Meet new people who have the same interests. Call ahead and let us know you are coming.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
Spiritual growth and renewal is just as important to us at Michaela Farm as farming and educational activities. We believe that the land and nature can help to lift your spirit and that the quiet and peacefulness can help to open your heart and mind to the working of God in your life. Come walk through our Contemplation Woods, rest in the Herb Garden or walk our Labyrinth. Let this little piece of Earth renew your spirit. For your safety and ours let us know you are on the property.
TOURS
Guided tours of the farm are available for grade school, high school, college groups. We also welcome parish organizations, community-based organizations and family groups. Visit the farm, the barn, the herb garden. Please call and make arrangements for guided tours. A short self-guided tour paper is available in the lower barn (Farm Store). Please do not open any gates or go into any residential buildings. For your safety and ours, please let us know you are on the property.
